Description
Blues Scale (G, Bb, C, Eb, F, Gb, G) The Blues Tembos bring the expressive spirit of the blues to outdoor music-making. These unusual instruments are plosive aerophones, creating sound when players strike the ends of the stainless-steel tubes with the supplied paddles. The resulting pulse of air resonates through the pipes, producing rich, atmospheric tones that are both distinctive and highly addictive to play. Named after the Swahili word "Tembo", meaning elephant, the instruments are inspired by the appearance of elephant trunks. Tuned to a traditional Blues Scale (G, Bb, C, Eb, F, Gb, G), they make it easy to create authentic blues-inspired sounds and expressive musical phrases. Rather than focusing on technique or theory, players are encouraged to explore rhythm, feeling, and improvisation, while also discovering the fascinating relationship between air movement, resonance, and sound.
