Description
Unpitched Percussion The Temple Block Tree brings a distinctive percussive voice to outdoor musical spaces through a nature-inspired arrangement of resonant temple blocks. Inspired by the traditional Muyu, or slit drum, of eastern Asia, this striking instrument combines sculptural form with engaging sound, making it equally effective as a stand-alone feature or as part of a larger musical ensemble. Arranged like the branches of a tree, two sets of five reinforced polymer blocks graduate in size from large to small, creating a range of contrasting pitches. When struck with the supplied mallets, each block produces a bright, hollow "pop" with excellent projection and character. Players can explore different sounds by striking the top surfaces or the rims, encouraging experimentation, rhythm-building, and creative musical expression. Constructed from durable reinforced polymer in a natural stone finish and supported by a polished stainless-steel frame, the Temple Block Tree is designed to withstand the demands of outdoor environments while providing years of engaging play. Its intuitive layout, satisfying sounds, and sculptural appearance make it a popular choice for parks, schools, sensory gardens, music trails, and community spaces.
